At $35/day you get either a Toyota Corolla sedan or our entry-level Toyota RAV4 (2002–2004 model). Both are well-maintained, regularly serviced vehicles that handle Kigali city and Rwanda main highway driving reliably.
The Corolla is a comfortable automatic sedan — air conditioned, 5-seater, excellent fuel economy at around 8–9 litres per 100km. If you are staying mostly in Kigali or doing main highway drives to towns like Huye or Kayonza, this is all you need.
The RAV4 2002 adds 4x4 capability — useful if any part of your trip involves unpaved roads, though for national park internal tracks we recommend the newer RAV4 2009 at $45/day.
