One of the most practical questions about Kigali car rental that search engines do not answer well: where exactly do you collect the vehicle? The short answer is that we offer three collection points and each works slightly differently. Here is the complete guide so you arrive knowing exactly what to expect.
Option 1: Kigali International Airport (KGL) -- Free Delivery to Arrivals
This is how the majority of our Kigali airport car rental clients collect their vehicles. You land, clear immigration and customs (15-40 minutes typically), walk into the arrivals hall, and our representative is standing there with a sign bearing your name. Keys, rental agreement, quick vehicle briefing, and you drive out.
How to book airport collection: WhatsApp us your flight number and arrival time at least 24 hours before landing. We track your flight in real time -- if you are delayed by 2 hours, we know and adjust. Your car is always waiting when you actually land, not when you were scheduled to.
Fee: Zero. Airport delivery is included in every Kigali car rental booking regardless of vehicle type, flight time, or duration of rental. This includes flights arriving at 2 AM, 4 AM, or during public holidays.
Timing: From landing to driving away: approximately 45-75 minutes total (immigration + baggage + handover).
Option 2: Our KN 4 Ave Office -- Walk In or Pre-Booked Collection
Our main office is on KN 4 Ave in central Kigali -- the main commercial avenue running through the city centre. This is the right collection point if you are already in Kigali (staying over before starting your trip), or if you have arrived by bus from elsewhere in East Africa.
Office hours: 6 AM to 10 PM, 7 days a week. Walk-ins welcome but pre-booking guarantees your vehicle is ready and waiting.
Getting to our office: Bolt from anywhere in Kigali (2,000-5,000 RWF). Taxi from the airport is approximately 8,000-12,000 RWF. We are easy to find -- WhatsApp us for the exact Google Maps pin.
What happens at office collection: Your vehicle is inspected together with you before departure. We note any existing marks, check fuel level, confirm your route, brief you on GPS and fuel type, and answer any questions. Typically 15-20 minutes.
Option 3: Hotel Delivery Anywhere in Kigali -- Free
Already checked into your Kigali hotel and need the car brought to you? We deliver to any hotel in Kigali at no extra charge. This is popular with clients who have been in meetings all day, conference delegates whose schedule did not allow an airport collection, and visitors who simply prefer the convenience of the car appearing at their accommodation.
How it works: WhatsApp us your hotel name and the time you need the car. We arrive at your hotel entrance, hand over keys and documents in the lobby or car park, do the 10-minute walkthrough, and you are ready to go.
Coverage: Any hotel in Kigali including Kiyovu, Kimihurura, Remera, Nyarutarama, Kacyiru, and the city centre. No delivery charge regardless of neighbourhood.
Returning Your Kigali Car Rental
Return works in reverse:
- Return to our KN 4 Ave office: Drive the car back, we inspect it together, and you are done in 10 minutes. Then Bolt or taxi to the airport.
- Airport return: Drive to the airport departure area. Call or WhatsApp our driver who meets you at the terminal entrance to collect the keys. You go straight into departures.
- Hotel collection on your departure day: We come to your hotel, collect the vehicle while you are checking out. No trip to the office required.
Which Pickup Location Should You Choose?
- Arriving by international flight: Airport delivery. Easiest, no extra steps.
- Already in Kigali, starting a road trip tomorrow: Hotel delivery the evening before your trip. Wake up with the car outside.
