Kigali at Night — Is It Safe?
Yes. Kigali is one of Africa's safest cities at night. The main bar areas (Kimihurura, Kiyovu, city centre) are well-lit and actively patrolled. Normal city awareness applies — do not leave drinks unattended, do not flash expensive items — but you do not need to restrict your movements based on safety concerns.

Getting Home After a Night Out
Bolt and local taxis run until late in Kigali. If you have been drinking, do not drive your rental car — use Bolt or a taxi for the evening and return to your car in the morning. Rwanda's drink-driving laws are enforced and the penalties are serious.
