Does Rwanda Have Uber Eats?
No — Uber Eats does not operate in Rwanda as of 2026. Uber itself has very limited presence in Kigali (Bolt is far more dominant for rides), and Uber Eats has not launched in the country.
What Food Delivery Does Exist in Kigali?
Glovo
Glovo launched in Kigali and is the closest thing to an international food delivery app available in Rwanda. It covers a number of restaurants in Kigali — mostly in the central, Kiyovu, and Kimihurura areas. Coverage and reliability are improving but not yet at the level you might expect from Glovo in Europe or East African cities like Nairobi.
- Available on iOS and Android
- Delivery area: Central Kigali and some surrounding neighbourhoods
- Typical delivery time: 30–60 minutes
- Delivery fee: 1,500–3,000 RWF depending on distance
- Payment: International card or MTN MoMo
Local Restaurant WhatsApp Delivery
Many Kigali restaurants — especially mid-range local spots — offer their own delivery via WhatsApp ordering. This is actually very common in Rwanda. You message the restaurant, place your order, pay via MTN MoMo or cash on delivery, and they send a boda boda rider. Works well within 5 km of the restaurant.
Ask your hotel or Airbnb host which local restaurants deliver to your area — they will know immediately.
Supermarket Delivery
Simba Supermarket offers delivery in Kigali via WhatsApp ordering for larger grocery orders. Useful if you are staying in a self-catering apartment.
What About Outside Kigali?
Food delivery does not exist outside Kigali. In Musanze, Rubavu, Karongi, and near national parks, you eat at the restaurant or cook yourself. This is one of many reasons that having a rental car and driving to the food is the Rwanda way — there is no delivery coming to your lodge in the mountains.
The Best Alternative to Food Delivery in Rwanda
Drive to the food. Rwanda's best meals — roadside brochettes, tilapia at the lake, fresh market produce — are not on any delivery app. They are at stalls you pull up to in your rental car, on your own schedule, at whatever hour you are hungry.
A city sedan from $35/day gives you full Kigali restaurant access without waiting for a delivery. A 4x4 from $60/day means dinner wherever the road takes you.
